Gas-phase methylation of [60]fullerene
Article Abstract:
A modified hot filament chemical vapor deposition method is used for performing direct methylation of [60]fullerene through a gas-phase reaction in a C[H.sub.4]/[H.sub.2]. The results have confirmed the presence of unreacted [60]fullerene along with amorphous carbon of the material collected at the center of the substrate holder subsequent to hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD).

QSPR modeling of solubility of polyaromatic hydrocarbons and fullerene in 1-octanol and n-heptane
Article Abstract:
Two general quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) models are developed that have described the solubility of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH)-s and fullerene ([C.sub.60]) in 1-octanol and n-heptane. Statistically good QSPR models are obtained by using forward selection techniques from large space of theoretical molecular descriptors.

Determination of the thermal stability of the fullerene dimers C120, C120O, and C120O2
Article Abstract:
High-speed vibration milling technique is used to produce the fullerene dimers [C.sub.120], [C.sub.120]O, and [C.sub.120][O.sub.2]. The thermal stability is studied where the bridging oxygen atoms are found to substantially increase the stability of the fullerene dimer molecules.
